First-Year Students
UC Santa Barbara offers two university success courses for first-year and transfer students. They are titled ED 20 and ED 118. For more information on these and other courses offered visit the General Catalog.
UCSB also offers Discovery Seminars. Discover @ UCSB Seminars are small group courses that facilitate student-faculty contact, promote valuable intellectual discourse in a small group setting, and allow students to explore subjects outside of their majors without affecting their grade-point averages. They are open to all eligible freshman and transfer students from any campus colleg or major.
