UCSB Answers

Our Best Answer - Will I be hazed if I join a fraternity or sorority?

Hazing

UCSB has a zero-tolerance hazing policy.  Hazing does occasionally happen in student groups, sports teams, and Greek organizations across the nation.  However, the University takes hazing very seriously and encourages students to report all potential hazing situations to our office or to a university professional. In the past, chapters have lost campus recognition because of hazing. We take it very seriously and address allegations swiftly and justly. All Greek students, campus organization leaders, and sports teams receive education on hazing. Hazing prevention education enables students to recognize when it is happening so they can put an end to it. Visit the website for more information.
