Our Best Answer - Can I audit a class?

Auditing Classes

UC Santa Barbara allows students to audit courses (i.e., attend a course, but not for credit).

During the regular academic year, students may audit a course (sit in unofficially) with the permission of the instructor.

Permission from the instructor is also required during Summer Sessions as described on the Summer Sessions Policies webpage.
