Our Best Answer - What are your admission requirements?
Admission Requirements
Undergraduate Students
Please see our pages for Freshman Applicants and Transfer Applicants to review academic requirements for admission to the university.
Graduate Students
To be considered for admission to a graduate degree program at UC Santa Barbara, applicants must have:
- Received a bachelor's degree or its equivalent from an accredited university prior to the quarter for which the applicant seeks admission
- Received at least a B average in undergraduate coursework
Additionally, each department has its own criteria for admission. Please visit the Departments and Programs website for requirements.
Satisfaction of minimum standards does not, however, guarantee admission. Since the number of qualified applicants far exceeds the number of places available, many well-qualified applicants cannot be accommodated. For complete information on our application and admissions process, see our Graduate Admissions page.
